Halal predicts that by 2050

Halal predicts that by 2050 (+/- 10 Years) that the earth will have billions of educated people (Halal, 2008).  These people are predicted have access to sophisticated collaboration and social networks creating what will be called the "Global Brain" (Halal, 2008).

The "Global Brain" will lead to fundamental breakthroughs in mathematics and physics resulting in further understanding Space-Time-Matter and the use of teleportation technologies for visiting alien planets (Halal, 2008).

Two forces that affected the success (Assuming we are speaking in the past tense):

(1) The worlds population reached 9 billion people, where 7 billion are said to be highly educated  (Halal, 2008).  This increase in global knowledge, fueled by active collaboration and net-centric social constructs, directly aided in the Earth's population finally coming together to seek a common goal!

(2) Sometime between 2030 and 2050 the majority of the world's governments combined to form a single government (Halal, 2008).  This made way for a true global community free to express themselves and collaborate with people across the globe without fear of reprisal.
